As we reported, Wojceich Szczesny has rocked up in Rome to complete his loan move to Roma today (Thursday).
One of the dullest and most drawn-out transfer sagas of recent times looks set to come to an imminent conclusion with the clubs striking a deal that will see Roma pay Arsenal a loan fee (thought to be up to €1m), all of the Pole’s wages while getting no option to buy him at the end of next season.
There was no trying to sneak into Italy for a player who doesn’t seem to do many things quietly.
His first words were to say, “Spalletti said that Roma have two great goalkeepers? He’s right.”
