As we reported, Wojceich Szczesny has rocked up in Rome to complete his loan move to Roma today (Thursday).
One of the dullest and most drawn-out transfer sagas of recent times looks set to come to an imminent conclusion with the clubs striking a deal that will see Roma pay Arsenal a loan fee (thought to be up to €1m), all of the Pole’s wages while getting no option to buy him at the end of next season.
There was no trying to sneak into Italy for a player who doesn’t seem to do many things quietly.
His first words were to say, “Spalletti said that Roma have two great goalkeepers? He’s right.”
Here are the best shots of Woj’s arrival that we could find:

(This is not true, it is not a permanent deal and there will be no option to buy)
