Alexandre Lacazette is set to return for Lyon when they face Arsene Wenger’s former side, AS Nancy, after recovering from a hip problem that many thought was simply a polite way of dropping him amid all the transfer nonsense surrounding the front man.

Lyon travel to Nancy on Sunday afternoon and the striker, whom Lyon are hoping to make their best paid player ever, will be amongst the squad.

Although many are still flogging what seems to be a very dead transfer rumour, Lacazette seems set to stay in Ligue 1.

Linked with a number of clubs, nobody actually seems to be bidding for him.

Of course, this can all change in the last week of the transfer window when people start to get desperate, but as it stands, Lyon look set to hold on to their star striker.

In this window, that’s not unlike a new signing.
