Alexandre Lacazette has reiterated that he’s not leaving Lyon.

Although the striker himself only appears to have denied leaving properly twice, the club has been saying this consistently since they revealed they had turned down our transfer off. It’s now all beyond tedious and I wonder whether we were actually really properly interested in the first place.

“There will be no departure,” Lacazette told the media.

“Everything is going well here at Lyon.”

The Frenchman has now scored five goals in two games, which is impressive to be fair.

Ex-footballer, Tony Cascarino, who claimed at the time the rumours first started that the deal was close, now claims that the reason we didn’t sign Lacazette was because we saw Michy Batshuayi go to Chelsea for £30m. The 22-year-old has similar stats and Wenger, therefore, believed the amount Lyon were asking for Lacazette was just too much.

Lacazette is not coming to Arsenal. Maybe he never was. Even if his brother seems to be quite the fan…
