Despite Real Madrid reportedly telling James Rodriguez that he would be staying at the La Liga club, Arsenal (and Chelsea) are still being linked and the media are convinced that Zinedine Zidane wants him out.

The Colombian, who is also being linked with a move to Juventus after he was reportedly seen house-hunting in Turin, has been rumoured to be signing for either Arsenal or Chelsea for weeks now.

No one suspects anything will happen, at least not from the Gunners’ side since it looks like we’re signing Lucas Perez and Shkodran Mustafi and there’s no way Arsene Wenger would sign someone else during this window. However, it is interesting how he’s still being linked with an exit despite what Real have reportedly told him.

If we did sign Rodriguez, I’m not sure who would be more surprised, Gooners or opposition fans. He’s a brilliant player but is he really a player we need? Saying that, remember when we didn’t ‘need’ Mesut Ozil? If a player is good, they’re good. The end.

Before you think I’m high: the chances of James Rodriguez coming to Arsenal are slim-to-none.
