Liverpool are ready to cash in on defender, Alex Greenwood, a player they purchased for a sizeable fee from Notts County in February.
With interest already registered, Liverpool will let Greenwood leave the club should the right fee be offered. To date, one club has been informed of the required fee but withdrew their interest as they are not prepared to meet it.
The move will come as a surprise to some but Liverpool have a lot of faith in their England u19 left back, Mayumi Pacheco, who was sent on loan to Doncaster Belles and could replace Greenwood next season.
Greenwood has 22 caps for England and was part of Mark Sampson’s World Cup squad in 2015 in Canada and has cemented her place as first choice with the national side, overtaking Chelsea’s Claire Rafferty.
It remains to be seen if Liverpool will lower the amount they are asking for Greenwood or if they will price her out of a move.
