Last week it was reported that Arsenal, Roma and Wojciech Szczesny had finally agreed a deal that would see the Pole return to Italy next season.

Looking like the contract just needed a few dots to finish it off, Everton are now reportedly trying to convince Woj that he should sign for them instead of heading back to Rome.

Ronald Koeman is looking for a replacement for Tim Howard and the Sun reports that they have identified Arsenal’s keeper as an ideal loan target.

If this is true, then the player will ultimately have the final decision on where he wants to play.

He may feel a move back to Italy is best as he would not be starting again in new surroundings.

Alternatively, he could decide that a move to Everton is the ideal platform to showcase his talents in the Premier League after receiving a hell of a lot of criticism from the English media.

Personally, I feel that Szczesny’s time at Arsenal is far from over and a move to another Premier League club would be best for him if he really does harbour ambitions of becoming the club’s number one again.
