Mathieu Debuchy’s agent is working hard to find the defender a new club before the season starts with the Sporting Director of Galatasaray confirming that he had been offered to the club.

Not prepared to play second fiddle to a youngster, Debuchy has been vocal about his unhappiness and desire to leave. Although he has been taking part in pre-season, no-one believes that is anything other than necessity as we try to get everyone back to full fitness.

Levent Nazifoglu told Turkish-football.com, “Mathieu Debuchy was offered to Galatasaray through his agent on a loan deal.”

It is peculiar that Arsenal are only looking to loan out the player rather than sell him outright. Although he has three years left on his contract I doubt anyone at the club thinks that Debuchy will be back in the side as first choice.

I’m sure he regrets ever leaving Newcastle to join us, but we can hardly be held responsible for him being Arsenal’d almost immediately upon arrival and then again after he finally recovered.

There had been reports that he would be heading back to France, but it now seems as if Gala have moved to the top of the list. I’m sure that’s got nothing whatsoever to do with money.

Gala are said to be in need of a fullback with the board allegedly being urged to replace the current players after a ‘string of poor performances’ according to Turkish-football.

Reports then emerged that a deal had been agreed, but we’re trying to verify this information.
