Christian Heidel has told Sport1 that “17 of 18 Bundesliga clubs” want to sign Serge Gnabry in this transfer window as reports come through that a deal between Arsenal and RB Leipzig has ‘burst.’

The details around that RBL deal are quite vague but I have my doubts about it with Arsene Wenger stating that Serge is in his plans for the next season. Of course, that doesn’t rule out a loan and could just be some sweet talking from the boss as they sit down to agree a new deal that will see Gnabry extend his Arsenal contract beyond next summer.

The standout star of the Olympics, Serge is much in-demand. “Except for FC Bayern,” Heidel said, “17 of 18 Bundesliga clubs want a deal with him.” It’s not surprising.

Wenger admitted that Serge needed to rebuild his confidence after his disastrous loan spell with West Brom last season when Tony Pulis showed that he actually didn’t know what to do with a player who was good at football.

The Olympics will have helped with that goal no end.
