Arsene Wenger has hailed his two new signings, Granit Xhaka and Rob Holding, following Arsenal’s pre-season win over the MLS All-Stars.

Both Xhaka and Holding impressed and excited Gooners during the match, with both putting in superb performances. Of course, both have weaknesses but the pros far out-weighed the cons and I’m looking forward to seeing them play for us in the Premier League during the new season.

Speaking after the game, Wenger praised how quickly they’ve adapted to our squad and style of play.

“[Granit Xhaka] did adjust very well,” Wenger said post-match.

“His passing was clean and technically he did well. Overall I believe his first game was encouraging.

“[Rob Holding] has adapted surprisingly in a very good way. He reads the game well and understands what’s going on. He anticipates well and that’s a quality, at such a young age, that you don’t find a lot.”

Adapting to a new club is always a huge test, especially is said club play in a different League to what you’re used to. When the Premiership starts, our new signings may be in for a bit of a rude awakening. However, getting in a solid pre-season will stop this from being quite so daunting.

Both have quite a bit of pressure on their young shoulders but I’m sure they can deal with it.
