On Friday, Wales once again made history by beating Belgium 3-1 and progressing to the Euro semi-finals. However, Aaron Ramsey’s second yellow card in five games means he misses the match against Portugal and Twitter was not happy.
It seems a bit odd. Two yellow cards in five games = a one match ban? In the Premier League, this would be good going (especially if your name is Mathieu Flamini). The strange Uefa rule means that Rambo misses out on the chance to play Portugal in the Euro semi-finals and his national team will be missing a crucial man.
Twitter recognised the absurdity of the situation with many tweeting Uefa directly. It still remains to be seen if Wales will appeal the decision given the situation.
2 yellow cards in 5 games meaning a 1 match ban and denying players the chance to play on the biggest stage! Get a grip @UEFA #Ramsey

Appeal that Ramsey yellow @FAWales

Gutted for Ramsey. Such a punitive rule, especially when you consider the nothing incidents for which you can get a yellow card these days.

Let's have a referendum on the yellow card rule #Ramsey #Brexit #EURO2016 #Wales #FIFA

The Yellow Card rule is the absolute worst in soccer. Poor Ramsey, misses semi-final because of 2nd yellow in FIVE games.
