There are conflicting reports doing the rounds regarding Wojciech Szczesny’s future at Arsenal.

The goalkeeper, who we all know by now spent last season on loan at Roma, was heavily rumoured with another season-long loan at the Serie A club. However, negotiations reportedly broke down recently because Arsenal wanted them to pay his wages this time around.

Now, some reports are claiming that we’ve come to an agreement and that a loan deal will be announced soon, while some are saying that he’s signing for Roma on a permanent deal worth £15m.

While it was always speculated that Arsenal either wanted to sell him or keep him, rather than loan him out again, this doesn’t make sense. Arsene Wenger has always rated the Poland international and a loan move would be perfect for him to gain even more experience, something he’s acknowledged has helped him.

What is clear, is that a conclusion should be reached soon one way or another.
