AS are today reporting that Alvaro Morata will stay at Real Madrid as the Spanish club do not want to sell him on and have him ‘explode’ like he did at Juventus.

The main story of the summer has been that the Spaniards would buy him back only to sell him on and make a massive profit but it now seems like they will keep hold of their former youngster, leaving Arsenal with yet another striking target off the table.

The deal will see Morata earn €6m per season (approx €115k per week) which is an improvement on the €4.5m he was already earning.

The agreement, which is not finalised completely yet, has only the length of contract to sort out with AS not quite clear if it will be for five years or six.

It is all expected to be completed in the next few days after the offers on the table from Arsenal and Chelsea helped Morata’s agent get a better deal with Real Madrid.
