In one of the most amusing transfer stories so far, Middlesbrough have reportedly held talks with Robin van Persie.
The former Manchester United (and Arsenal) striker is currently with Fenerbahce but they’ve made it clear that they will listen to offers. For some reason, the Turkish side seems pretty keen to get rid of the 32-year-old.
Obviously, with talk that the Dutchman wants to move back to London came rumours that he wishes to re-join Arsenal. Although, from our end, this wouldn’t ever happen.
Other Premier League clubs, West Ham and Crystal Palace, have been linked but the latest is Middlesbrough. According to ESPN, he’s even held talks with the former Championship club and has been at their training ground this week.
Joking aside, he would be a brilliant signing for any of the aforementioned clubs. And he’s got more chance of being warmly received at them than if he was to return to north London.
