Another Arsenal target has been crossed off the list after Lyon president, Jean Michel Aulas, confirmed that Alexandre Lacazette is staying.
The striker has reportedly been on our radar for a while and, since the Jamie Vardy deal fell through, we’ve been on the hunt for more goalscoring talent. Unfortunately, with this one, we’ve come to another deadend and the Frenchman is staying exactly where he is.
“We had some calls but Alexandre (Lacazette) will stay,” Aulas said.
“I believe he wants to and the coach counts on him.”
Could this be definitive? There’s a small chance that the president could be bluffing in order to bump up the 25-year-old’s price. However, it’s not looking good is it?
There’s now beginning to be a real sense of anxiety regarding our summer transfer activity, especially if you look at Twitter.
Everyone was thrilled with the early signing of Granit Xhaka and with the bid for Jamie Vardy coming soon after, many were in high hopes that we were going to get all our business done ASAP. However, everything’s slowed right down and despite adding to our youth squad, there’s been very little in the way of substantial rumours.
Fingers crossed Wenger’s got something up his sleeve.
