Mathieu Debuchy has decided he will leave Arsenal this summer and Bordeaux are reportedly interested – again, according to Le Parisien.

The Ligue 1 side took him on loan for the second half of last season and it seems, despite injuries hampering his time there, they are reportedly impressed enough to bring on him board full-time.

The 30-year-old isn’t getting any younger and now that he’s been overtaken in the pecking at Arsenal order by Hector Bellerin, he realises he needs to look elsewhere if he’s going to get regular football.

The right-back is contracted with us until 2019 but when we signed him from Newcastle two years ago, he was only £12m. Given his age, lack of playing time and poor injury record, it’s doubtful that we’ll get a huge amount for him. However, sometimes selling players isn’t to do with getting money but about making space.

Hopefully, the move comes through, as it’ll be beneficial for both Debuchy and Arsenal.
