Eddie Howe is the latest manager to be linked with the Arsenal job after Arsene Wenger leaves.

Wenger’s contract is up in 2017 and although he’s going to honour his final year, what happens after that is uncertain. While at first, comments made by Ivan Gazidis appeared to hint at a new contract for the boss, the rumours have fizzled out, with the Frenchman even been linked with the England job.

38-year-old Howe was also linked with the England job. His youth, class and style were appealing. However, the job was given to Sam Allardyce and Howe remains Bournemouth boss.

Could Howe one day manage Arsenal? The Daily Star seems to think so.

Given a couple more years in the Premier League, I believe he wouldn’t be a bad appointment. And there’s no doubt that if he was offered the Arsenal job that he would take it.

I’m still convinced we’ll offer Wenger a contract extension, even if it’s by just another year. The chances are we’re just waiting for the right time to announce it and now is not that time.
