Arsenal are asking £3.3m for David Ospina with officials from Beiktas flying to London for talks over the goalkeeper according to a report from Turkey.
Ospina is expected to leave the club this summer after failing to secure the starting spot after the arrival of Petr Cech.
Besiktas have been admirers of the Colombian for a while now and Arsenal are perhaps feeling that £3.3m is a more than reasonable price for a player who enjoyed a great Copa America, is only 27 and still has three years left on his contract.
Indeed, his market value is around £6m but at halfprice it could still be a bit expensive for the Turkish champions who want him for £2.5m according to another report in Turkey.
“Arsenal want a lot for him [Ospina] so we may have to look for alternatives,” Fikret Orman said.
“I do want Ospina and we are going to get a foreign keeper.”
If I was asked to make a call one way or the other, I would expect the two clubs to find an agreement.
Even if they can’t, I do not see Ospina being an Arsenal player when the window shuts.
