It’s that name again; the name which strikes fear into the heart of Gooners everywhere: Didier Drogba.
No matter how many times he leaves Chelsea, the Premier League or planet (probably) we will always have to play Didier Drogba. During his entire time at Chelsea, he scored 13 goals against us in 15 appearances. Out of those appearances, Chelsea won 10, drew four and only lost one. ONE game out of 15 and he scored in almost every game.
You can probably tell why most Arsenal fans dread seeing his name pop up the opposition’s team sheet.
When he finally left our south London rivals for the second time last season and signed for MLS club, Montreal Impact, we thought the nightmare was over. We could start our therapy and move on from the cold sweats that awaken us in the middle of the night.
Alas, we are still not free. The 38-year-old still haunts us. He’s now been selected for the MLS All-Star squad set to face us on the 29th July during our pre-season trip to the US.
Is there any point in us actually turning up or…?
