Despite buying Arda Turan for £35m from Atletico Madrid, Barcelona are reportedly willing to sell him for as little as £23m and Arsenal are keen.

Arsenal have been keen on the midfielder for a while, if the media are to be believed which, let’s face it, they’re usually not.

Despite the Turkey international’s sizeable price tag, due to Barca’s transfer embargo, Turan wasn’t able to play until the second half of the season and, even then, didn’t exactly live up to the hype. With this in mind, the Catalans are thought to be willing to listen to offers, with The Sun saying that we could scoop him up for a mere £23m.

As cheap as this seems in today’s climate, I doubt an attacking midfielder is high up on our list of needs. £23m would be far better spent in an area we actually need strengthening in. To me, it just sounds as if either Turan really wants to leave Barca, or Barca are desperately trying to get rid of him.

Here he is in action.
