Arsenal have reportedly approached Lille left-back, Djibril Sidibé’s, representatives over a move to north London despite his move to Monaco almost being complete.

The 23-year-old is practically a Monaco player but, according to L’Equipe, Arsenal have made the French defender a priority and have swept in, ready to steal him out from under the Ligue 1 team’s nose.

The fee is reported to be worth €15m. He scored four goals last season in the French League and assisted three, which, for a full-back, isn’t too bad. Especially considering he’s still quite young.

It does appear that we’re in the market for a left-back and he’s reasonably priced. I wouldn’t rule this move out at all – unlucky Monaco.
