In addition to travelling to the States this summer, Arsenal will be heading Scandinavia to play games in both Norway and Sweden.
In addition to playing Viking FK in Norway, they will also face Manchester City in Sweden in a glamour game.
Kicking off against the Vikings on 5th August at the Viking Stadion in Stavenger, they will then play City two days later in Gothenburg in front of 44,000 fans at the Ullevi Stadium.
“Pre-season is a very important time for the team and our trips to the United States and then Scandinavia give us a good mixture of games to get ready for the new campaign,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.
Tom Glick, Manchester City’s chief commercial officer, added “Everyone at Manchester City is delighted to be taking part in the Supermatchen, which will provide the team with valuable preparation for the season ahead and allow us to further engage with our fans in Sweden.
“This match marks the team’s first visit to Gothenburg so we’re looking forward to connecting with our local fans both on and off the pitch.”
Tickets will go on sale on 9th June at 12pm via Swedish TicketMaster according to the City website. Arsenal have said ‘Ticket details for the matches against Viking FK and Manchester City will be available shortly.’
