It was all a bit quiet on the Arsenal-front on Sunday.
The day started off with the ‘breaking’ news that Arsene Wenger had revealed that Jamie Vardy wasn’t leaving Leicester City. However, upon further inspection of the video, we’re not all too sure whether he meant it or not.
After this, we managed to catch up on the fact that Alexis Sanchez had scored for Chile again. Blimey.
As the Ornacle later confirmed, the striker still hasn’t come to a decision but we are looking at other options.
Elsewhere, another one of Granit Xhaka’s countrymen bigged him up and said he’ll be awesome for Arsenal, while Wayne Rooney stroked Jack Wilshere’s already considerable ego and James Rodriguez confessed his love for David Ospina.
The rumour mill began churning out news that Wenger is about to sign a two-year contract extension but we said why that might not be such a good idea right now, particularly if Vardy does turn us down.
We’re also apparently ready to Inter Milan centre-back, Jeison Murillo, but not without a fight and we’re keen on this Lille forward.
Celta Vigo’s president admitted that Nolito will probably leave, with Wenger poised to pounce.
Meanwhile, we’re apparently trying to sign Daley Blind. Yes. That Daley Blind.
In the Euros, France faced Switzerland and although the match itself was an anti-climatic 0-0 draw, both countries progress to the next stages.
