Newly relegated Newcastle are reportedly after 21-year-old Isaac Hayden.
The Magpies are looking for a defender with Championship experience, which Hayden has since he spent last season on loan at Hull City.
Although the Shields Gazette claims that Newcastle just want him on loan, surely at this point Arsenal should consider a more permanent move? He’s 21 now, and only appeared 18 times in the Championship for the Tigers. A lot of his time was spent on the bench or not in the squad at all.
What’s more is that he’s only ever made two appearances for Arsenal and that was in the League cup.
I’m all for not giving up on players and Arsene Wenger obviously believes in Hayden, otherwise he wouldn’t have only loaned him out last season. Therefore, I don’t see him selling him just yet. However, a loan move with an option to buy at the end might be beneficial for all involved.
