The date and place for the Arsenal Ladies’ FA WSL Continental Cup first round game, away to Reading, have been disclosed and it is a quite surprising one.
You would have expected the game to be played at Wycombe FC where Reading Women usually play their home games. A ground that recently saw the FA WPL play-off final and the England against Serbia Euro 2017 qualifier, but it will not be played there.
As per London Bees twitter, who play at the Hive, Reading v Arsenal will be played on the 2nd of July as a double header following the London Bees v Chelsea game :
CONTINENTAL CUP DOUBLE HEADER: The Bees game against @ChelseaLFC will be followed by @ReadingFCWomen v @ArsenalLadies both at The Hive!
— London Bees (@LondonBees) June 7, 2016
The Barnet FC ticketing website gives the following information:
Continental Cup Double Header
This ticket will give you entry to two events: 14:00 London Bees V Chelsea, 17:00 Reading V Arsenal.
Obviously, Arsenal Ladies have played and won a game there before against the London Bees. They beat them 3-1 in the Conti Cup 2015 edition and have played another game at the Hive in the Champions League back in 2014, losing 2-0 at home to Birmingham under Shelley Kerr.
