Zenit centre-back, Ezequiel Garay, reportedly wants a move to Arsenal, despite interest from Manchester United and Inter Milan.
The 29-year-old signed for Zenit from Benfica in 2014 and made 28 appearances for the Russian team last season. This isn’t fantastic, especially at his age, as he is a little injury prone. I think we can all agree that we don’t need more injury-prone players.
The centre-back is attracting attention from the likes of Inter Milan and Manchester United but, according to Tuttosport, he wants to come to north London. Understandable, to be honest.
What’s interesting is that Inter want to sign him as a replacement for Jeison Murillo, the very same player we’ve started to be linked with recently.
What’s clear is that we are in the market for another centre-back, which is great. With Per Mertesacker being left out more and more last season and Gabriel not being the knight in shining armour we’d hoped for, we do need some more strength at the back.
