What if Arsenal haven’t signed a world class striker because the club believe they have one in the academy, just waiting to develop?

Donyell Malen was signed from Ajax last summer and has given Stephy Mavididi strong competition since arriving in north London, but there could be an even younger star in the making in the academy.

In the u18s’ final game of the season on Saturday, Eddie Nketiah scored a hat-trick against Spurs. The game ended 3-3 but it was the perfect end to an impressive season for the 16-year-old.

Nketiah is quick and a good dribbler but, most impressively, scores a variety of goals. He managed 24 in 28 games for the u18s this season (20 starts and eight substitute appearances). Not bad.
