Manchester United won their lunch-time kick-off against Norwich on Saturday 1-0, putting pressure on Manchester City and Arsenal.

The Red Devils’ goal came from Juan Mata in the 72nd minute, thanks to a Wayne Rooney assist. The goal is huge in the fight for a Champions League stop with Arsenal and City playing each other on Sunday afternoon.

United have two remaining fixtures against West Ham and Bournemouth, which you’d assume they will take maximum points from. The win leaves them on 63 points, just one behind City in fourth and four behind the Gunners in third. Therefore, you definitely wouldn’t count them out of grabbing one of the Champions League places, especially if we take points off City at the Etihad.

Van Gaal will have one eye on the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace and will probably see winning that, as well as finishing fourth, as a decent result.

Arsenal only have City and Aston Villa to play on the final day of the season, while the Blues have us and Swansea.
