Jack Wilshere has hit back at the Sun after the paper reported that the midfielder spat at an elderly neighbour following a row over an 18ft net.

On Friday, the Sun claimed that the police were recently called to the 24-year-old’s residence after an argument between him and his 71-year-old neighbour, Alun Cathcart, occurred. The subject of the conflict is said to be Wilshere’s 18ft net that he has across his garden, presumably in order to prevent footballs from going next door.

The row seems to be ongoing and the latest claim is that Wilshere spat at the neighbour out of the window of his car.

The England international took to Twitter on Friday night to vehemently dispute the claims, mentioning how damaging they could be to him and his family.

This recent incident is the latest in a long line of controversy, which appears to follow Wilshere around. Although he’s consistently denies being involved in these situations, drama does always seem to find him.
