Arsenal are allegedly asking West Ham for £20m for Theo Walcott. You heard.

Joking aside, £20m is actually a pretty decent estimation for the forward. Although, on paper, he’s realistically maybe worth around £15-£18m, the fact that he’s a well-established England international will bump up the asking price a bit.

In addition, West Ham are closer to rivals than they have been previously. We’ve only managed to take one point off them this season and they’re going into their final clash (against Manchester United) in seventh. Five places higher than last season.

Therefore, it stands to reason that we won’t be selling the 27-year-old to a ‘rival’ for a small price.

What is clear is that he does need to move on. This isn’t anything against Theo, I was actually a fan until about midway through this season. I’d defend him, claiming that he would come good soon – just give him some match some without injuries. I might even shed a tiny tear when and if he leaves.

But now, I’m tired of being frustrated and exhausted of having to type “unlucky Theo” every 0.2 seconds he’s on the pitch. He’s not terrible but he hasn’t got that natural talent that we need. I’m sure he’d be very happy at West Ham.
