Arsene Wenger is reportedly shocked by the amount of vitriol that’s currently being aimed at him from by Arsenal fans.

The atmosphere at the Emirates on Sunday was palpable even by those not in attendance. Another underwhelming draw, this time 1-1 against Crystal Palace, left many speechless. Those who could find words didn’t have anything nice to say, and why should they?

Arsenal were uninspiring and looked as if they didn’t even care. Something that hasn’t changed for a long time, even when the individuals in the starting lineup have, which lands the blame squarely at the manager’s feet. Despite this, according to the Mirror, the boss is apparently perplexed by the fans’ anger.

If this is true, it’s concerning. Being average is not something that a club like Arsenal should be used to. We have one of the best stadiums in the country and, on paper, some of the best players. So why is it going wrong? As much as I wish it wasn’t, it has to be the manager.
