Arsene Wenger met with the press after watching his side labour against a dull Norwich side at the Emirates.

Making the key change that won the game with the introduction of Danny Welbeck for Alex Iwobi, his call paid off almost immediately leaving the majority of us who had questioned his decision looking rather foolish.

Asked about it after the game, Wenger said “I felt that on our left side Alex is more a midfielder who likes to come to the ball a bit more, not run in behind and Danny gave us that right away.

“It was very difficult but the decision that was right.”

Also bringing off Alexis Sanchez, the Chilean seemed to go straight down the tunnel in a bit of a huff. Wenger was asked about that as well. “Of course [he was not happy to be taken off], I know Alexis very well for a long time now and he wants to play every minute.

“But what’s important is the team wins the game.”

Wenger was also asked about the fan protest. “Look we respect the opinion of everybody and we give absolutely the best I think I’ve shown my commitment for this club and I care for this club and for the fans.

“I’m really sorry that I cannot make them more happy and we will continue to work hard to achieve it.”
