Arsene Wenger revealed after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over West Brom at the Emirates the extent of Kieran Gibbs’ injury.
The left-back’s name was missing from the team sheet on Thursday and the boss revealed that this is down to a back issue.
Wenger on @KieranGibbs: "He has a back problem but it looks short term. He had a training session today."

Although the boss doesn’t believe the problem is long term, it’s still concerning considering how injury-prone Gibbs is. His time on the sidelines is rarely limited to just a couple of games so it’ll be interesting to see how this one pans out.
Hopefully, we’ll see the defender again before the end of the season, as numerous reports are circulating that he could be off in the summer. Although he’s found it difficult to get game time ahead of Nacho Monreal, who has enjoyed another solid season in north London, it’d be a shame to see him go. He’s been an Arsenal man since the beginning and it’s always hard to lose one of our own.
