Vague reports have emerged that Arsene Wenger wants to bring in Getafe’s Alvaro Vazquez and Pablo Sarabia.

There appears to be little substance behind the reports. The Spanish duo have featured on and off for the La Liga team this season.

24-year-old striker Vazquez has featured 30 times in all competitions, only scoring five times. The Spaniard has been finding it increasingly difficult to get a full match under his belt and it’s therefore likely that he’ll be looking to leave Getafe.

23-year-old midfielder Sarabia has featured even less (27 times, scoring six goals and assisting five) but when he has made appearances, more often than not he’ll be used for the entire match. It should also be noted that he’s had a couple of injuries, including his shoulder, which have kept him out for a couple of weeks at a time.

Neither player seems to be of the type of quality we need in the squad. Arguably, some might say this makes them more likely to join us but there really doesn’t seem to be anything behind the rumours.
