A win against Stoke City puts Spurs just five points behind League leaders, Leicester.

After the Foxes dropped two points in their 2-2 draw against West Ham at the weekend, Spurs were primed to make some ground up on their rivals. Annoyingly, they succeeded.

Our north London rivals are now within touching distance of the League title thanks to goals from Harry Kane in the ninth and 71st minutes and Dele Alli in the 67th and 82nd.

The win also puts Spurs eight points ahead of us and Man City. Although we have a game in hand over the two teams above us, it’s unlikely that they’ll slip up enough to allow us through. The title is gone and now all we can do is a) hope that Spurs don’t win it and b) concentrate on getting one of the Champions League spots.

It’s a sad time to be an Arsenal fan and, looking at how we’ve performed since January, I’m surprised we’re where we are.
