Spurs hero, Ledley King, has admitted that just finishing above Arsenal in the Premier League is a huge achievement for the north London club.
The retired footballer spoke about his former team’s season and is understandably pleased. Spur are still in with a decent shout at the title, while Arsenal dropped yet more points against West Ham on Saturday.
“Finishing above Arsenal is something that hasn’t been done for many years so that would be a big achievement,” Ledley said to Sky Sports.
“But no matter what happens now, it’s been a fantastic season for Spurs.”
“We have Champions League football again and the players will be a lot stronger for knowing what it takes at the top end of the table.
“I fully expect more improvement next season for having had this experience.”
This will be the first time during Arsene Wenger’s reign at Arsenal that the mob from down the road will finish above us. No St. Totteringham’s Day this year, folks.
Although it does go to show how seriously they take this rivalry if old Glass Legs over there reckons that’s one of their biggest achievements. From an Arsenal perspective, it’s downright embarrassing that this was our best shot at the title for years and we’ve screwed it up yet again, while the lot from White Hart Lane have overtaken us and are actually playing pretty well *gags*.
