Mohamed Elneny completed 121 passes against Watford setting a new record for the season for the most completed in one game.
Unless you’ve been hiding in shadowy N17, you can’t help but notice how well Elneny has done since he was thrust into the side when Aaron Ramsey picked up his latest injury.
Not only has he shone, he has allowed Francis Coquelin to find himself once again and the Frenchman has looked a lot more stable since the Egyptian has been in the side.
And the same can be said for the whole Arsenal team.
Elneny brings something solid to this side but it is not just dependency that he brings with him. He has energy, movement and an eye for a pass as well as a finish.
Against Watford, it was his passing that got him in this season’s record books:

It hasn’t taken long, but he’s already developing into a real fans’ favourite with his no-nonsense approach.
Quite what Arsene does when his cripples return is anyone’s guess, but Elneny deserves to keep his place.
Will he?
Only Wenger can answer that.
