Aaron Ramsey verbalised exactly what most of us were thinking after our 2-0 win over West Brom at the Emirates.
Speaking just after the match, which saw him start alongside new defensive midfielder Mohamed Elneny for the first time, the Welshman admitted that as good as the win is, it’s probably too little too late in terms of the League.
“We’ve been really frustrated with the way we’ve been playing,” the midfielder revealed.
“But we’ve come back tonight and shown what we’re capable of doing. It may be too little too late but we’ll keep going until the end.”
As much as it’s worth celebrating a win, it doesn’t erase our other poor performances or the fact that we should have won the League this season. However, a win is a win and we’re now back up to third, five points off Spurs in second. I don’t see us climbing any higher but at least we can get Champions League football for next season, no matter what happens with players (or the manager) going in or out.
Ramsey himself made a decent enough return. It was good to see his unrivalled work rate back amongst the starting XI. Hopefully, he’ll return to his best as his fitness improves.
