Jens Lehmann’s record of minutes without conceding in the Champions League will stand for a little while longer after Keylor Navas conceded two in Germany.
The Real Madrid keeper needed to keep Wolfsburg at bay for 133 minutes to match the record Lehmann set with Arsenal in the 05/06 and 06/07 seasons but he could only keep the Bundesliga side out for 18 minutes on Wednesday night.
In only one home game this season have Wolfsburg failed to score, and that was against Bayern Munich.
They eventually scored two against the Spanish side, both in the first half of the first half.
Lehmann’s record stands at 853 minutes spread over 10 games and as times goes on we can really appreciate just what a feat that was, especially in the world’s elite club competition featuring the best players on the planet.
