Gabriel is remaining optimistic in Arsenal’s quest for the title and thinks we’ll win it… as long as Leicester and Spurs both slip up.
After our 4-0 win over Watford in the League on Saturday, it’s hard to see where we went wrong earlier in the season and dropped so many points. Now, our only hope of winning is if both Spurs and Leicester lose numerous matches, which, given their consistency, isn’t likely. However, Gab still has high hopes.
“The team are now very excited with the last two wins in the league, which were two difficult games, but we’re all thinking positively that we can win,” the Brazilian said to Eurosport.
“We’re also hoping for some fault on Leicester and Tottenham’s part and if we carry on the way that we have been lately, that we can definitely win the league.”
I’m not sure whether Gabriel’s optimism pleases or scares me but if the players don’t believe, who will?
We’re performing well (as of the last couple of matches, anyway) and all we can do is win our remaining fixtures in the hope that those above us will drop points. Spurs drew against Liverpool on Saturday evening and therefore only gained a point, which has allowed us to reduce the gap between third and second to four points with a game in hand. Pray for a miracle, people.
