With two goals from Alexis Sánchez, Arsenal strolled to a 2-0 win on Thursday evening.
Alexis dovetailed brilliantly with Héctor Bellerín on the right-hand side particularly in the first half as Arsenal swept West Brom aside at the Emirates Stadium.
Named in the PFA Team of the Year earlier in the week, Bellerín spoke about Alexis after the game.
“It’s always very easy to have a good understanding on the pitch with players like Alexis,” said the Spanish defender.
“He is a top quality player who makes playing football easier for the rest and anyone watching the game can sense that.”
The win was an important one for Arsenal, who had stuttered to two draws against West Ham United and Crystal Palace in the previous Premier League matches. Back to winning ways, there is once again a gap between the Gunners and fifth place.
Arsenal also leapfrogged Manchester City with the victory on Thursday and another win at Sunderland on Sunday will take the side one step close to involvement in next season’s Champions League.
Bellerín is encouraging the right mentality from his teammates again after a good performance against West Brom.
“We had some difficult weeks lately because some of the last results did not quite go our way. There is still a lot to play for so it was time to react. We came onto the pitch with the right mentality and that reflected in the final score.”
