Arsenal’s u18s coach, Frans de Kat, has confirmed he’ll be leaving the Gunners at the end of the season.
The Dutchman, who’s leaving to join Holland’s training academy as their new coordinator, has coached at Arsenal since 2014 but admitted that, as much as he’s enjoyed his time in north London, he’s ready for a new challenge.
“It was great to coach a big club like Arsenal to work, but I’m also looking forward to get back to the KNVB to get started,” he said.
It’s unclear who will take over from De Kat when he leaves at the end of the season. However, with Thierry Henry already lurking around coaching the young attacking players at London Colney, perhaps he’ll take on a larger role at the club.
De Kat already has vast experience in the KNVB so there’s no doubt that he’ll slot back into life there with ease. Whoever we bring in will have a decent enough squad to take over.
