Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly after Charlton Athletic youngster, Regan Charles-Cook.

The defender has only appeared for the Championship side four times in all competitions this season and although we’ve apparently been keeping an eye on him for three years, it seems like a big gamble.

Of course, if we are looking at him, it’ll be for our youth squad but considering the talent we currently have in the academy, bringing in a new, inexperienced player doesn’t seem like the most sensible decision right now. Especially considering our weaknesses in the first team.

Saying this, our connection with Charlton and history of loaning our players to the London team means we could have information that others don’t and if we are to ‘battle’ Liverpool for the Englishman’s signature, we’ll most likely win.

As you can see below, Charles-Cook only signed a new contract with Charlton a few months ago, which suggests he wouldn’t be up for a move just yet.
