Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ mother is back in the press for all the wrong reasons once again.

Arsenal have previously been forced to call the police on Jules Niles after she allegedly assaulted two members of staff, including Dick Law at a youth match in 2015. However, no charges were filed. This time, her anger has reportedly been focused on the winger’s temporary manager at Ipswich, Mick McCarthy.

After Ainsley wasn’t allowed to attend the England kit launch recently, his mother is said to have called the Tractor Boys’ boss and left an abusive voicemail. According to the Sun, the manager even asked others to listen to it to confirm he wasn’t going crazy.

If the reports are true, I really feel for 18-year-old Ainsley because you can’t choose your family. Although his mother is obviously passionate and wants the best for her son, it’s now affecting his career as he’s been frozen out of the Ipswich side. At such a young age, it must be difficult for the winger to decide who he should listen to.
