Jack Wilshere has stepped up his injury recovery and has begun running outside.
But, from the latest reports it seems unlikely that he will feature for Arsenal this season.
In fact, all the reports concentrate on him getting fit for the Euros which is ridiculous in so many ways.
First up, his fitness should centre around playing for Arsenal and not his country.
Secondly, why is he even being picked to go to the Euros if he hasn’t played all season?
It’s not fair on those who have and impressed all campaign, plus it’s stupid not to give him time to get a proper pre-season under his belt for a change.
Wilshere had a metal plate inserted into his leg in September and it has been causing him ‘manageable discomfort’ which doesn’t sound all that promising. Arsenal are hoping the pain will ease when his leg gets stronger, but he may need yet another operation to remove the plate if it does not.
With just around seven weeks of the season left and Arsenal talking about Wilshere’s leg needing to get stronger, it’s hard to see how he will feature for Arsenal before the end of the campaign.
He’s been out all season and will have no level of match fitness.
But, still, as long as he’s fit enough to go to France and get crippled again, eh?
