The upcoming international break sees Egypt face Nigeria, and one Nigerian defender is already wary of the ability of Mohamed Elneny.

Moruf Yusuf, who plays in the Egyptian league for Zamalek, is unlikely to feature for the Super Eagles but has warned his countrymen to be wary of the ability of the Arsenal midfielder.

“Nigeria has to prepare well for the game against Egypt because they are coming with full force,” Yusuf said. “Mohamed Elneny is a very good midfielder, he operates everywhere in midfield and he has strengths.”

Elneny is likely to start for Arsenal on Sunday when the Gunners take on Watford in the FA Cup quarter-final, and he’s set for a long stay in the team with Aaron Ramsey injured.

There’s little doubt he’s impressed Arsenal fans early on in his time at the club and he’ll certainly add to the 39 Egypt caps he already has at the young age of 23.

The game against Nigeria will almost certainly see Alex Iwobi lining up against his new club teammate but, for the time being, they will have to put international rivalries to one side and hope to beat Watford on Sunday afternoon first.
