Manchester United have allegedly put a massive deal on the table in order to lure Zlatan Ibrahimovich to Old Trafford next season instead of Arsenal.

Zlatan is out of contract with PSG this summer and has made it clear that he won’t be staying with the French side prompting a scramble to uncover where he will be playing next.

On Friday, reports emerged that the 34-year-old is one of United’s main targets with the club willing to offer a two-year deal worth £24m.

A source at United told the Daily Star “The team needs a major injection of talent and some superstar additions.

“Zlatan fits the bill. He might be getting on a bit but he can still do it at the highest level and would be worth the risk in terms of big wages because no fee is involved.”

It’s not clear at this point if Arsenal are even interested in signing Zlatan or if their name has just been included to increase pageviews.

United’s deal works out at £12m a year, or £230k per week which is around £100k more than the maximum Arsenal pay.

It would seem that, contrary to reports, if United are offering £230k per week, it’s got nothing to do with them trying to stop Arsenal.

£150k would probably do that. £175k definitely would.
