Roberto Martinez confirmed ahead of Everton’s match against Arsenal on Saturday that Bryan Oviedo is unlikely to feature.

According to the Toffies’ manager, Oviedo has lost a substantial amount of weight while sidelined and although he’s just started training again on an individual basis, he still remains a big doubt for the match against Arsenal.

The defender has only made 16 appearances for Everton so far this season and introducing him to such a high-tempo game would be a risky move. Considering Oviedo wasn’t in the squad last time we faced the Toffies either, it won’t make much difference to us.

Martinez also gave updates on Leighton Baines and Muhamed Bešić.
