The man, the myth, the legend that is Emmanuel Eboue appeared for Sunderland’s u21s against Leicester amid rumours that he could be signing a contract with the Black Cats.
The former Gunner has been on trial in the north east for a while now and it looks as if he’s impressed enough to not only make an appearance for Sunderland’s u21s but to also get a contract there.
Eboue only left Galatasaray last summer amid controversy and claims that he was deliberately not played and hasn’t played a competitive game since, so it’s really of no surprise that the 32-year-old wasn’t on his best form. However, it’s a start.

Although I wouldn’t want Eboue back in north London considering he wasn’t exactly the best player and simply became popular for his clown-like behaviour on and off the pitch, I do want him to be happy. He’s never said a bad word against Arsenal and even spoke in January about returning, which broke my heart.
I wish him all the best.
