It’s been 24 hours of Hector Bellerin coverage after the Spaniard spoke to the media in Spain.

First we had the Catalan press trying to link him with a return to Spain. Then we had the player himself coming out and denying he had any interest in going anywhere.

Now we have him talking about what price he thinks he might go for given that Manchester United paid stupid money for Anthony Martial.

Before you get concerned, it was all good fun.

I do not think so [that I’d cost as much as Martial].

“The market is a little crazy.

“There are clubs paying a lot of money and I never know how much a player might cost…

“I leave it to the experts.”

Hector’s market value is listed as £9.75m by Transfermarkt but you’d have to think that he’s worth considerably more than that in real terms.

The Spaniard is said to be wanted by Barcelona (who want to replace Dani Alves), Manchester City, Manchester United, PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

A veritable roll-call of the world’s richest and most successful clubs.

He really is that good and Arsenal could well face a battle to keep hold of him in the near future unless they can start bringing home the big prizes.

His currently contract runs until 2019.
